Putting it in your mail client

New Outlook, and Outlook on the web

  1. Copy signature.
  2. Settings (the gear) → Accounts → Signatures.
  3. New signature, then paste into the editor.
  4. Select it for both New messages and Replies/forwards, then Save.

Classic Outlook for Windows

  1. Copy signature.
  2. File → Options → Mail → Signatures.
  3. New, then paste into the Edit signature box.
  4. Set it as the default for New messages and Replies/forwards, then OK.

Thunderbird

  1. Download for Thunderbird, and keep the file somewhere permanent: Thunderbird reads it every time you write a message.
  2. Account Settings → your account. Leave Signature text empty; tick Attach the signature from a file instead, Choose…, pick the file.
  3. Composition & Addressing → make sure Compose messages in HTML format is on.
  4. Optional: Thunderbird adds a -- line above every signature. To drop it, Settings → General → Config Editor, set mail.identity.default.suppress_signature_separator to true.

Paste into the signature editor, never into a message body. Pasting into a message lets Outlook rewrite the markup, and the logo starts growing a little on every reply. For the same reason, don't drag the logo to resize it: it has to stay 180 × 36.

Classic Outlook attaches the logo unless you tell it not to. It embeds signature images as attachments by default, even when the source is a URL. Set Send Pictures With Document (DWORD) to 0 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\Mail and restart Outlook. New Outlook, the web version and Thunderbird already keep the URL.
